Your Eligibility For Health Benefits
You are eligible to participate in the health plan if you are employed
under a Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers contract and
sufficient employer contributions are made to the SSDC-League Health
Fund on your behalf.
To be eligible for benefits, employer contributions of at least $800
must accrue on your behalf during a six-month period as outlined below.
In addition, your first rehearsal date(s) must fall within the
corresponding six-month contribution period. Note that the start date of
your eligibility will be based upon both an adequate contribution
requirement and the start date of your rehearsal period(s), regardless
of when the contributions due on your behalf are paid.
Contributions Periods and Eligibility Periods:
If $800 accrues for you from
January 1 through June 30 |
You have eligibility from
October 1 through March 31 |
If $800 accrues for you from
July 1 through December 31 |
You have eligibility from
April 1 through September 30 |
|
If $1,600 or more accrues on your behalf in a
six-month contribution period, you will be entitled to a full year of
paid benefits.
If contributions accrued on your behalf in a six-month contribution
period exceed $800 but do not reach $1,600, you may apply the excess to
the next period to help meet the minimum eligibility level.
If contributions accrued range from $640 to $799, you may buy into Option A
for $1,250 plus the applicable enrollment fee.
